SHOW RULES

Cats compete divided by CATEGORIES, CLASSES and GROUPS.

CATEGORIES

1 - Long Hair
2 - Semi-Long Hair (All Norwegian Forest Cats compete here)
3 - Short Hair
4 - Siameses and Orientals
5 - Domestic

GROUPS

Fontemouro: Grupo III
1 - Black and solid Blue
2 - Black and solid Blue with White
3 - Black and Blue tabbies
4 - Black and Blue tabbies with White
5 - Black or Blue Torties, solid or tabbies, and Red
6 - Black or Blue Torties, solid or tabbies, and Red, all with white
7 - Silvers and Smokes
8 - Silvers and Smokes with White
9 - White

In each group a cat competes for a title or a class. The titles can be won in several expos, depending the results and the points gained. To become an European Champion is necessary to climb a stairway from the ground, the Open Class. However, the youngsters from three to ten months cannot aspire to titles yet, only to prizes of each show: Best in Variety and Best in Show.

Classe 12 - Youngsters
Cats from three to six months

Classe 11 - Júniores
Cats from six to ten months

Classe 10 - Neutros
Males and females neutered, candidates to the title of Premior.
(Each one needs three Certificates of Premior Aptitude (CAP),
Judges may not give the CAP to a cat if they understands that besides being the best of the class
doesn't have the right conditions to have the title)

Classe 09 - Open - Candidates to Champion
(Each one needs three Certificates of Champion Aptitude (CAC), given with an Excellent 1 by three different judges;
Judges may not give the CAC to a cat if they understand that besides being the best of the class
doesn't have the right conditions to have the title)


Classe 08 - Premior

(similar to Classe 07, but only for neutered)


Classe 07 - Champion

The national champions compete for the Internacional Champion title
(Each one needs three Certificates of International Champion Aptitude (CACIB), given with an Excellent 1
by three different judges in two different countries)

Classe 06 - International Premior
(similar to Classe 05, but only for neutered)

The international champions compete for the Grand Internacional Champion title
(Each one needs six Certificates of Grand International Champion Aptitude (CAGCIB), given with an Excellent 1
by three different judges in three different countries

seven Certificates of Grand International Champion Aptitude (CAGCIB), given with an Excellent 1
by three different judges in two different countries)

Classe 04 - Grand Internacional Premior
(similar to Classe 03, but only for neutered)

Classe 03 - Grand Internacional Champion
The grand international champions compete for the European Champion title
(Each one needs nine Certificates of European Champion Aptitude (CACE), given with an Excellent 1
by three different judges in three different countries

by six different judges in two different countries)

Classe 02 - European Premior

(similar to Classe 01, but only for neutered)

Classe 01 - European Champion

The European Champions can get a Honor Prize (PH), Best in Variety title or a Best in Show Nomination

Melhor da Variedade (Best in Variety)

After being taken to the judge table, the best cats of each class and of the same group align for the Best in Variety election. Juniors and youngsters also compete for the prize.

All cats of the same group have to be judged by the same person.

Nominations & Best in Show

To compete for the most desired prize, the Best in Show one, all the Excellent 1 of each judge most go through the nominations. The judge joins around him or her all adults (males against males, females against females), youngsters and juniors that have evaluated and choses one of each «age» to the final. It's the first time that cats from diferent breeds face themselves in the show, the next one will be precisely in the Best in Show. This time, the Norwegian Forest Cat faces his colleagues of semi-long hair, like the Maine Coon, Ragdoll and Birmanian.

Cats of each category nominated by the judges compete for the titles of BEST IN SHOW and BEST OPPOSITE SEX. All four Best in Show cats (long, semi-long, short hair and siamese and orientals) compete in the «grande finale» for the BEST OF THE BEST title.
